Founder's note

From a private Notion archive to a digital agora

Hey, I'm Jonathan, a social entrepreneur based in Berlin. I'm passionate about exploring and shaping new models that tackle the European housing crisis. For years, I collected hundreds of resources about cooperative and sustainable housing in Europe across different Notion databases — from studies, podcasts and organisations to lighthouse projects and events. The collection grew genuinely valuable.

I wanted to open it up and turn it into a collaborative digital knowledge hub, where a community could curate together and where exploring and interacting with all the different resources feels easy and engaging. I searched for a tool that could do that with all the Notion content as the source — and couldn't find one that offered what I was longing for.

So I started building it myself.

That build became the start of the European Housing Coop platform. And as I learned this year that I'm not the only one longing for such a tool, I turned the architecture behind it into NextAgora, a white-label platform solution. Notion still sits at the centre, because it's where many teams already organise what they know. The goal is a fast-evolving tool that lets any organisation open a digital agora of its own, in a magically easy way — a place that unites knowledge, people and opportunities around a shared theme.

AI-assisted development has carried NextAgora this far, and it lets us keep developing at lightning speed. But I'm now looking for more humans to join the journey — especially around product strategy and marketing.
